When I made a travel plan to palembang, I immediately contacted a friend who lives in Palembang she named MIERA PELANGI. But unfortunately she already had another trip so she can not accompany me in palembang. Oya, For this trip I was accompanied by 3 chatty friends namely Finna, Bismi, and Kang Nanda. but Bismi and Kang Nanda went two days earlier than me and Finna because their will visit dempo mountain to look for "wangsit" wkwkwk KIDDING!!!.
As my opinion, Palembang is actually not a tourist spot like artsy Jogjakarta in Java, but there are many things to be found beneath the surface.
Accomodation
There are a variety of options, from lodging to hotels in Couchsurfing, to any budget. If you want a luxurious hotel with a strategic location, my favorite hotel is Hotel Horison Palembang which has an Air Conditioning, WIFI, restaurant, swimming pool, among other facilities with room rates around Rp 600,000 to 1,500,000.
For a cheaper option, if you want to stick to hotels, you can choose Tune Hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable with an attached bath, air-conditioning, cable TV, AC, and Wi-Fi with room rates around Rp 300,000 to 600,000.

Transportation
Palembang has many public transportation options from buses to angkots to becaks (bicycle carts, fun for trips of a few kilometers), taxis, cars, and ojeks (motorcycle drivers). Check in with the hotel desk to see if you can hire a car with a driver, and usually, bargaining is acceptable. There are also taxis (Bluebird is reliable and fairly cheap) and sometimes, I’ve been able to negotiate a price for using the same taxi for multiple trips or you can find the "ojek online" via application like UBER, GOJEK, GRAB, etc.
Day 1
Me and Finna depart from Jakarta to Palembang using Lion Air (No delay, alhamdulillah 🙏) with travel time about one hour only with the price of ticket for return is Rp.904.000. When we arrived at Sultan Mahmud Badarudin International airport - Palembang, we did not have time to enjoy the airport area because my belly has protested like "Krubuk Krubuk ... please give me a meal!" 😂😂😂, so we decided to go straight to MIE CELOR 26 ILIR - H.M. SYAFE'I that people say "mie celor" in this place is delicious.Day 1

Review by me :
Very fast service.
Large noodle portions, so get ready for a glut.
Noodles served with boiled egg and sprinkling of grilled shrimp and coconut milk sauce.
It tastes delicious. YUMMYYYY!!!
After lunch was over, we looked at the map to get to our next destination of lodging where we were staying and the distance to the inn was about 1.5KM, so we decided to walk. (Walking is our hobby, so its OK!!)
the journey to the hotel begins!!! After about 700m we walked it turns out we passed PALEMBANG INDAH MALL and we were forced to visit it. (just a reason !!: p) we also passed the "Agate Center / Pusat Batu Akik" but we just passed it because we are not a fan of agate. :p

and finally we arrived at HOTEL HORISON ULTIMA PALEMBANG (The place that we will stay for 2 nights). This hotel is a strategic
location in the heart of Palembang city located at Jalan Jendral
Sudirman or precisely in front of Cinde people market. From the outward appearance of this luxurious building, it may be one of the tall buildings in downtown Palembang. Being
one place with Sudirman City Center that is not yet operational,
Horison Hotel has attracted many visitors to enjoy a comfortable sleeping experience.

After hiking from dempo mountain, finally the two men arrived in the city of Palembang and ready for culinary. The previous culinary destination is the red bean ice which is located not far from the hotel. But because GPS invites us to get around tourist attractions in palembang, so enjoy our TRIP !!!
When you're walking, we saw traders sell MARTABAK HAR and we decided to buy it. (First culinary in day 2) *nomnomnommmm*
Martabak HAR is a fried martabak, which contains eggs (chicken / duck), which is then served with a curry sauce containing potatoes and spices.
After we finish eating martabak har, we go back to searching red bean ice by foot (although the heat facing us can still be felt because we are together wkwkwk). So, to relieve fatigue due to the weather, we decided to WEFIE each found the building. 😆😆😆
and the question is where is this red bean ice ???? and we still do not know .. ahahaha
After so long we walk away, without our planned even through the BENTENG KUTO BESAK.
Not far from benteng kuto besak, we can find MUSEUM SMB II. Oya, When we want to enter the museum, we saw someone who sells cane water, and automatically we buy directly. the price of this sugar cane range of ten thousand rupiah (Rp 10.000,00). 👀👀👀
The appearance of the RED BEAN ICE we are looking for (after half drink) plus TEKWAN and PEMPEK as a complement. MISTERY SOLVED and its time to rest in the hotel until MOTOGP race is over. KYAAA thats my rule!!!
For dinner, we choose to eat padang cuisine in PAGI SORE located at Jalan Sudirman No.96D, 20 Ilir D. I, Ilir Timur I, 20 Ilir D. I, Ilir Tim. I, Palembang City, South Sumatera 30126. the location is to near hotel, we just walk as far as 500 meters.
after dinner, we look for snacks in the form of pempek and finally we walk to the next location that is PEMPEK BERINGIN (Jl. Kapten Anwar Sastro No.1128, Sungai Pangeran, Ilir Tim. I, Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan 30114). While enjoying the streets, we saw someone sell sweet martabak and we buy it (Its location on the roadside with a long queue). After martabak already in hand, then we go to pempek beringin but actually it was closed (so sad!).
But we do not give up so easily, the next day before returning to Jakarta we stop by to pempek beringin to eliminate curiosity.

The
hot weather leaves us unable to walk any further so we use public
transport "Metromini" and get off on the opposite of the hotel. (FYI, during the metromini we get a kind of dangdut song .. wkwkwk).
When going into the hotel, kang nanda still curious as red bean ice mistery. After being investigated it turns out the location of this RED BEAN ICE is located not far from the hotel so we decided to go there. FIGHTING!!!
